North Korea secretly arms Israel's main ally in the Middle East

North Korea supplied Egypt with weapons, including rockets, rocket grenades and components for grenades.
This is reported by the Washington Post referring to US officials and Western diplomats.

It is about the ship intercepted in 2016 by the Egyptian authorities: a vessel called Jie Shun was heading towards the Suez Canal from the DPRK under the flag of Cambodia.
On board the ship was a cargo weighing 132 tons. In 79 boxes, more than 24,000 rocket-propelled grenades for RPG-7 and a few thousand grenade components manufactured in the DPRK were discovered. In addition, anti-tank missiles were on board, the total cost of which exceeded several million dollars. The missiles were hidden under a load of iron ore.
The newspaper writes that a cargo for the needs of the military department of the country was ordered by Egyptian businessmen, who wished that the fact of freight and delivery remained unknown. The total value of the cargo is estimated at 23 million dollars.
Sources said that the attempt to supply arms was stopped after the US seized the vessel and warned Cairo through diplomatic channels. As the newspaper notes, Washington forced Cairo to take action in connection with this report.
The media noted that the incident complicated the relationship between Cairo and Washington and caused the US refusal to provide Egypt with economic assistance of $ 95.5 million, as well as to provide a loan of $ 195 million. The official reason for the refusal was the violation of human rights in Egypt.
Representatives of the United Nations called the confiscation of the cargo of the court the biggest violation of sanctions against the DPRK from the moment of their introduction against Pyongyang
