On October 3, on the eve of the Sukkot holiday, a circle for studying the Tanakh (Holy Scripture) opened at the residence of the head of the Israeli government.
During the opening ceremony of the circle, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of the Jewish tradition for the people of Israel and linked this topic with a number of topical political issues.
"Everyone who talks about the peace process must first of all declare the need to recognize Israel as a national Jewish state. Peace in relations between our neighbors also obliges them to recognize Israel as a national Jewish state. We are not interested in imaginary reconciliation, when Palestinian groups are reconciled with each other at our expense, at the expense of our existence.
And so we expect to see, first, the recognition of the State of Israel; secondly, the dissolution of the military wing of Hamas; and, thirdly, the disruption of ties between the PA and Iran, calling for our destruction. These are the basic requirements, and we insist on them, "the head of government said.
