According to CNN, three US Special Operations Forces soldiers were killed in Niger, two more were wounded, placed in a local hospital in the Niger capital and will soon be transferred to Germany. The Pentagon did not confirm, but did not refute this information. The White House confirmed that Trump was informed about the incident in Niger.

The incident occurred 190 kilometers north of Nigerian capital Niamey. A limited contingent of US Army instructors is based in Niger to help the local army and French troops stationed here in the fight against extremists of Al-Qaeda.
