As reported by Vesty.co.il., A lecture by 93-year-old Shlomo Perel who survived the Holocaust and wrote the book "Europe, Europe" touched Chinese bloggers to tears.
A delegation of popular Chinese bloggers visited Israel the other day in the framework of the project "Young Leaders from China and Japan", organized by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and the Israeli Foreign Ministry.
One of them, a historian by training who has 6 million subscribers, who watched before the lecture a well-known film based on the book of Perel's Holocaust, could not resist and burst into tears right on the old man's shoulder. Perle survived because he pretended to be a German and an active member of the Hitler Youth. His story, he laid out in a book, which then was filmed a film that received the Golden Globe Award and claimed to be an Oscar.
"I read the book, I watched the film, and suddenly I see the author live." I simply could not believe and I was moved, "the blogger said.
Perel answered that he considered this meeting as Divine Providence. "I never communicated with the Chinese, and the first Chinese I met was a man who knows me, read my book and burst into tears of meeting me." I myself still barely hold back tears, "he said.
It also seemed surprising to the organizers of the project that out of a whole billion Chinese people in Israel came the one who read the book and knew Perel, whose lecture was planned without any prior approval.
The goal of the joint Israeli-Chinese-Japanese project "Leaders from China and Japan" is to strengthen cultural and social ties between Israel and the peoples of China and Japan to improve cooperation between countries
