Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed with several African leaders to change the agreement on the admission of illegal immigrants.
In September, during a visit to the United States at the UN session, Netanyahu met with African leaders. They agreed to change the agreement on the admission of illegal immigrants in their countries. Earlier, countries accepted migrants only on condition of their voluntary consent to leave Israel. Now they have removed this condition, and the Israeli authorities can expel illegals and forcibly.
About which countries in question, not officially reported, but it is known that this is Uganda and Rwanda.
The relevant agreements were signed in New York.
Thanks to agreements with these countries, 15,000 Sudanese and Eritreans left Israel within the last three years. During these years, the authorities pursued a policy of "carrot and stick", on the one hand, those who agreed to leave Israel were given 3,500 shekels, and on the other, those who stubbornly were imprisoned in the "Saaronym" prison.
The High Court of Justice opposed this practice: in August, he banned illegal aliens in prison for more than 60 days. At the same time, BAGAC recognized the deportation as legitimate. +
"Israel a-yom" notes that the new agreements allow the government to circumvent the verdict of BAGATS and thus solve the problem of African illegal immigrants.
