Following America, the Israeli defense system began to develop in other countries, no less interested in the new models of Israeli weapons designers.
Thus, the Office for the Development of New Types of Armament (RAFAEL) proposed a "Vetrovka" to South Korea, whose army is constantly on alert with a neighbor such as the DPRK.
Apparently, it is supposed to establish "Windbreak" on South Korean tanks K2. Reports about the testing of these systems on K2 have not yet been sent to open sources, but in Rafael it is assured that such a system can be installed on any tank.
In addition to the tank defense systems, RAPHAEL offers a system for neutralizing unmanned aerial vehicles and an "Iron Dome" missile defense system that has been tested in combat conditions. True, the South Korean Ministry of Defense said a few days ago that the "Dome" does not meet the needs of the country. So it is unclear whether South Korea will acquire this system.
All this became known from the Israeli delegation at the ADEX exhibition, which is taking place these days in Seoul. According to information received by the press, the local version of the tank defense does not include the function of destroying the target, in contrast to the system proposed by the RAFAEL concern.
Developed by the Israeli defense industry concern, the "Windbreaker" is capable of operating within a radius of two kilometers, and includes a RPS-42 S-band radar, the Controp MEOS optical system, and a control and monitoring system for its own production.
Recall that in the recent past, RAFAEL proposed to establish "Windbreaker" on the German tank "Leopard" and the Russian T-72. All this - in addition to the Israeli tanks Merkava and the American tanks Abrams, to which the system in the functional version is already installed.
